Library Links Royalty Free and Copyright Free Images and Clip Art. Safety in today's digital world is a primary concern. Anyone who believes that filters alone are enough to protect our students from inappropriate material is an ostrich with his head in the sand. Our students need to be taught safe practices for exploring the Internet that can be used no matter where they are. Here are some excellent Internet Safety resources. Primary Sources are artifacts such as official documents, journals, clothing, toys, tools, paintings, photographs, advertisements and more. Critical analysis of primary sources can lead to interesting questions and significant reflections. Information literacy is the ability to access, evaluate, and use information from a variety of sources in an independent and responsible manner. One of the best ways to teach these skills to our students, and give them the opportunity to practice them, is through collaborative, interdisciplinary guided inquiry research projects that focus on real world problems and create real world products. Videoconferencing allows our students to interact with professionals and other students at distant locations. Many major museums, zoos, government offices, universities, and science centers have developed VC curriculum that is modifiable for any audience. As you visit these websites look for the term "distance learning". Examples of wikis to explore | |||||||
